"Sustainability has been a hot topic in the last few years with many incredible designers and entrepreneurs emerging that want to have business practices that respect the environment and provide better options to an otherwise very wasteful industry,” shares Wendy La of WLA Events who was the creative force behind this shoot. “2021 will be a year embraces outdoor weddings and intimate gatherings— with smaller receptions you can really put a lot of thought into the design of your wedding. We shouldn’t lose sight of all the eco-friendly options available to us, including locally sourced florals and decor.”

La and her talented team of vendors shot this chic story with Rebecca Wood on location at Steam Whistle Roadhouse. She shares the inspiration behind it was that luxe weddings can have a timeless quality while being as environmentally kind as possible.

Details we love include two brides outfitted in incredible statement gowns from Loversland. A slick tablescape set with a black stone plate sitting atop a black metal-framed geometric charger, with a black velvet knotted napkin and black cutlery.

These florals continued on to the tabletop in deliberate small arrangements spread out across the length of the table, accompanied by tall candlesticks. A delicious detail to note also: the rustic wedding cake was vegan and was designed to match both the venue backdrop and tablescape.
Eco-friendly menus were placed at each place setting with a hand-tied mini bouquet of dried floral arrangements. Just above the table setting is a stunning monochromatic floral installation featuring eco-friendly lush foliage of white roses, ranunculus, double tulips, peonies and lisianthus, to create a structure with depth and dimension to it.
